The AFX G+ is the predecessor of today’s magnet cars which is largely overlooked today. Although it's out of the box performance paled by that of today’s magnet cars with a great deal of work and attention to detail performance could be made respectable even by today’s standards . Chassis used for this project are what we used to call the Canadian chassis which had a snap in rear axle. As I recall this chassis was first offered in the Canadian market and hence the name. This allowed for quick tire changes between racing segments or heats. This was a necessity as uncoated sponge tires with traction goop were used and tires just didn't last that long. The balance of the parts used will be the best available today from BSRT, Wizzard and others. The goal of this project is to build a series of cars similar to what many of us raced in our early days of organized racing - hopefully, re-igniting racers interest in this all-time favorite of mine.

To the right is the pre-production prototype chassis. Here, any adjustments to specifications can be tested and proven.

Done!! All that's needed now are the lexans from Mr. Bill's Painting.
